The traditional question: what came first, the hen or the egg?
could be asked in relation to plagiocephaly and Congenital Muscular Torticollis (CMT).
Check:
- If your baby's head always rolls to the same side.
- If he or she has difficulty turning to right or left.
This could be CMT
If you detect CMT in your child and the head appears somewhat misshapen, the most likely is that:
- the cause is Torticollis
- plagiocephaly is the consequence
Should you detect CMT and plagiocephaly,
- Treat them jointly
- As soon as possible
- And by experts
Warning: if the torticollis is not treated adequately, the result may be spinal deformity (scoliosis). Parental involvement is vital.
